For many gamers that call themselves "old school", there is one multi player game deep in their memories. The game is the very first Quake and it is amazing multi player death matches. Many people will remember using the nail gun against their friends online, or blowing them up with the rocket launcher. Well, the good people at Valve Software were some of those nostalgic gamers. There were already many mods for Half-Life at the time, but many of them were team-based. So Valve decided to make a tribute to oId Software's masterpiece, and that's how Deathmatch Classic was conceived. DMC, as its normally known among the community, has all the same elements that made Quake so popular. The same weapons are available for players and even some of the same maps. It almost seems like a graphical updated Quake death match game, the only giveaway is the crowbar weapon instead of the axe. You have the same power-ups as in Quake, too. There is still a very good community out there of hardcore gamers willing to be the kings of the servers. It is all there, so if you are feeling a bit nostalgic, just grab DMC and start making some damage. You can get this game at Steam, Valve's official store.
